Dúchas and Our School
It is always amazing to see the link between our generation and previous generations. In 1938-1939 primary school pupils collected stories from their parents and grandparents around the country. These were transcribed into their copies and passed on by their teachers to the Folklore Commission. They provide a wealth of knowledge on local beliefs, customs and local history in general. Clara NS took full part in the compilation project and, directly from the Dúchas website, we present here the 47 titles compiled in their copies by the then pupils of Clara National School.
Some of the copybook entries are typed out by volunteers and can be edited by the public
